Aerodynamic sizing is often at the very beginning of
a development process of an Airframe. We use
Vortex Lattice and 3D Panel Methods in FLOW5 for
sizing and state-of-the-art CFD (OpenFOAM) for
optimization. With our capacity to build Wind-
Tunnel-Models in-house, paired with many hours
of experience in Wind-Tunnels in Switzerland and
Europe, we provide fast iteration between CFD
optimization and Wind-Tunnel validation.

SIMULATION DRIVEN
Lightweight airframes require structural optimization. Using
state-of-the-art FEM and machine learning, we validate
digital twins against real-world load cases. Making use of
FEM methods in Siemens NX (Nastran) and Ansys, we
optimize parts for requirements of stiffness or strength,
placing material right where it is needed. Not only does
structural proof ensure approval by authorities, it also
ensures that no surprises occur after the release of designs
and industrialization of products regarding the life cycle of
a product, fatigue behavior, and unforeseen events.

Testing is key to achieving the optimum and mitigating risk
for the future. In combination with the digital world of CAD
and simulations, our tests generate deep insights and enable
us to fully exploit material and design potential. We offer a
broad range of testing methodologies, such as in-flight
measurements for the assessment of load cases using loadcells
or accelerometers, local strain distribution with DMS using our
data acquisition method, or laboratory material characterization
and subsystem analysis.

time to fly and early feedback not only from the
laboratory but also from the airfield or even the market.
